Valorant Tournament Rules

. Tournament Overview 

  • Host: BaseStack Dortmund 
  • Tournament Leader: Jay Nwankwo-Quayenor
  • Number of Participants: 30-60 players or 6-12 teams 
  • Eligibility: Participants must be at least 18 years of age. 
  1. Tournament Structure
  • Format: The tournament will be structured in a knockout or round-robin format, depending on the final number of teams. 
  • Team Composition: Each team must consist of 5 players. 
  • Registration: Teams must register by 19/10/2024. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and once the maximum number of participants is reached, registration will be closed. 
  1. Match Rules
  • Game Mode: Standard Competitive mode. 
  • Map Pool: The maps will be chosen from the current competitive map pool. Maps for each round will be determined by a ban/pick process conducted by the team captains. 
  • Match Settings: All matches will be played with the following settings: 
  • Rounds: Best of 24 (first to 13 wins) 
  • Overtime: Overtime will be resolved using the in-game overtime rules. 
  • Server Region: [Specify server region] 
  1. Prizing
  • Prize Pool: The total prize pool will be announced prior to the tournament start. Distribution details will be provided based on the number of participating teams. 
  • Prizing Limits: In accordance with Riot’s guidelines, the total prize pool for this tournament will not exceed $10,000 USD. 
  1. Sponsorship and Funding
  • Entry Fees: Teams may be charged an entry fee, which will be used solely to offset the costs of running the tournament or added to the prize pool. 
  • Sponsorship: Sponsors may contribute up to $10,000 for this tournament, but total sponsorship contributions across all tournaments hosted by BaseStack in a calendar year must not exceed $100,000. 
  1. Broadcasting
  • Platform: Matches will be streamed on [Specify Platform, e.g., Twitch, YouTube]. 
  • Viewer Fees: No fees will be charged for viewers to watch the matches. 
  • Moderation: The chat will be actively moderated to prevent any vulgar or abusive behavior. The “Show Blood” setting must be disabled in-game for all broadcasts. 
  1. Code of Conduct
  • Behavior: All participants are expected to behave in a professional and sportsmanlike manner. Any form of harassment, cheating, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in immediate disqualification. 
  • Compliance: All participants must comply with Riot Games’ rules and guidelines, as well as any additional rules specified by the tournament organizers. 
  1. Trademarks and Branding
  • Promotion: The name “VALORANT” can be used to promote the tournament, but terms like “Championship”, “Champions”, “Season”, “League”, or any other terms implying official Riot Games affiliation are prohibited. 
  • Disclaimer: All promotional materials must include the following disclaimer: “This competition is not affiliated with or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc. or VALORANT Esports.” 
  1. Miscellaneous
  • Age Verification: All players must be at least 18 years old. Age verification will be conducted during the registration process. 
  • Disputes: Any disputes or issues arising during the tournament will be resolved by the tournament leader, Jay, whose decision will be final.
