League of Legends Cup Rules

Registration 

  1. Eligibility:

   – All participants must be at least 18 years old. 

   – Each team must consist of five players. 

  1. Registration Process:

   – Teams must register online at BaseStack Dortmund’s official website (https://basestack.gg/dortmund/events/cs2-1v1-tournament/). 

   – Registration closes on 04.01.2025. 

   – A registration fee of €150 per team must be paid upon registration. 

Tournament Structure 

General Rules: 

Eligibility: All teams must check in at least 30 minutes before the tournament starts. Players must be at least 18 years old and have a valid League of Legends account (EUW server). 

Team Size: Each team consists of 5 players. One substitute is allowed but must be registered with the tournament organizers before the event begins. 

Game Version: The tournament will be played on the current live version of League of Legends, and all champions are available. 

Behavior: Unsportsmanlike conduct, including insults, intentional loss, or technical exploitation, will result in immediate disqualification. 

Cheating: The use of third-party software or scripts is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. 

Punctuality: Teams must arrive on time for their matches. A team has 10 minutes after the official start time to be fully prepared. Failure to show up will result in an automatic loss. 

 

Game Rules: 

Pick & Ban: Matches will be played in **Tournament Draft Mode**. Side selection (Blue/Red) will be determined by a coin toss before each match. 

Win Condition: A match ends when the opposing Nexus is destroyed, or a team forfeits. 

Pause Rules: Each team is allowed one pause of up to 5 minutes per game in case of technical issues. Abuse of the pause function will result in penalties. 

Technical Issues: If technical problems significantly affect the game, a rematch may be allowed if deemed necessary by the tournament organizers. 

 

Special Rules for Best-of-3 and Best-of-5 Matches: 

Side Selection: In the first match, the side is determined by a coin toss. In subsequent matches, the losing team gets to choose the side. 

Champion Selection: In case of a rematch due to technical issues, the champion selection will remain the same if the game has started after the pick & ban phase. 

  1. Match Conduct:

   – Players must use the equipment provided by the tournament organizers unless otherwise permitted. 

   – Any form of cheating, hacking, or exploiting game mechanics is strictly prohibited. 

   – All players must respect the tournament schedule. Teams must be ready to play at their designated times. 

   

Code of Conduct 

  1. Sportsmanship:

   – All participants must exhibit good sportsmanship and maintain respectful behavior towards opponents, referees, and organizers. 

   – Any form of harassment or abusive language will result in immediate disqualification. 

 

  1. Decisions:

   – The decisions made by tournament referees and organizers are final. 

   – Any disputes must be raised immediately to the referees. 

 

Prizes 

The entry fee is €150 per team, with 50% going into the prize pool. 

Example Prize Pool with 16 Teams:   

  16 teams × €150 = €2400 total.   

  50% = €1200 allocated for the prize pool.    

  Prize Distribution: 

  1st Place: → €600 

  2nd Place: → €400 

  3rd Place: → €120 

Miscellaneous 

  1. Broadcasting and Media:

   – By participating, players agree to be filmed and recorded for promotional purposes. 

   – Matches will be live-streamed on official BaseStack Dortmund channels. 

  1. Health and Safety:

   – Participants are encouraged to take regular breaks to avoid fatigue. 

   – The venue will adhere to all local health regulations to ensure a safe environment.
